AVD / VDI Architect

Ergo are seeking an Azure Virtual Desktop Architect for an exciting role in our market-leading Professional Services team.

Working with a five-time “Microsoft Country Partner of the Year” winner you will design and implement Azure Virtual Desktop solutions.

The successful candidate will have strong desktop virtualization skills and experience designing AVD solutions at scale as Ergo work with some of the biggest Enterprise clients in Ireland.

What will you do?

• Identify opportunities for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions in our clients by actively leading AVD/VDI pre-sales initiatives.
• Meet with potential customers to discuss opportunities and define business and technical requirements.
• Design Azure Virtual Desktop solutions to meet client specifications.
• Implement and secure VDI environments.
• Develop and document migration strategies to support AVD/VDI deployments.
• Research emerging technologies relating to VDI.
• Mentoring of junior members of the team.

You should have experience with the following…

• Designing and implementing Azure Virtual Desktop solutions (highly desirable)
• Nerdio Manager for manging AVD deployments (desirable)
• The ability to bring a project through discovery, design, build, testing, and deployment phases.
• Image Management in virtual desktop and application environments, ideally with automation capabilities.
• Profile management solutions e.g. FSLogix containers, Ivanti, VMware DEM, Citrix WEM or similar
• Application delivery in a virtual desktop or application solution e.g. MSI packaging, MSIX, App-V, some other containerisation solution
• A background in working with either Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (XenApp or XenDesktop) and/or VMware Horizon is favourable.
