Ergo First HP Partner in Ireland to Achieve 5-Star Sustainability Award
Dublin — 10th March 2021: Ergo has become the first HP partner in Ireland to earn a 5-Star Sustainability Award from HP, the highest accolade in the multinational’s global sustainability partner programme. Two new projects met HP’s criteria to win the award, one was a sustainability project in the community, the other an educational initiative that promoted ‘the circular economy’ of recycling, as well as waste management, green procurement and transportation.
In the first, Ergo provided Coláiste Eoin, an Irish language secondary school in Dublin, with 200 refurbished laptops to help students further their education. The devices are being tested and updated with a version of the Windows Operating System, after which they will be deep cleaned and delivered ‘as new’ to the school.
As part of ‘the circular economy’ project, Ergo revised its baseline CO2 emissions to meet updated policies and targets that align with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030. Ergo first baselined its carbon footprint back in 2011and has continued to accelerate its environmental actions as the climate change crisis deepened.
