Milestone Year as Ergo Announces 33 New Jobs and Wins Top Microsoft Award
Irish IT services firm Ergo has announced that it will create 33 new jobs over the next three years. The announcement was made at the official opening of Ergo’s new HQ in Dublin’s East Point Business Park by Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation Batt O’Keeffe T.D. yesterday evening.
Paul Rellis, Managing Director of Microsoft Ireland, was also in attendance to announce Ergo as Microsoft Partner of the Year, topping off a milestone year in Ergo’s 17 year history. The award is presented by Microsoft to one company in each country that has excelled in its deployment of Microsoft solutions.

Ergo, which currently employs 125 people, is a leading Irish-based IT company offering IT infrastructure and software solutions to the private and public sector.
Historically focused on the domestic market, in the past eighteen months the Dublin-based company has pursued an international growth strategy supported by Enterprise Ireland, that has seen the company expand its operations into the UK, mainland Europe and Australia.
Ergo’s international arm, Fenergo, has established a European presence and opened an overseas office in Sydney; the first step in what Ergo believes will be an international business worth €30 million in three years. The expected growth will create at least 33 new jobs over the next three years.
Officially opening the firm’s new headquarters, the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation, Batt O’Keeffe TD, said: “Ergo is a fine example of what research and development can do for an Irish company – starting out manufacturing printer components, moving on to delivering information technology infrastructure services, and using Enterprise Ireland’s Research and Development Fund to become a specialist provider of software solutions in the financial services market.
Ergo’s story is an exemplar of how Irish firms can grow by adopting an export-led growth strategy underpinned by a strong focus on innovation. Ergo is the kind of innovation-intensive firm the Government is eager to support, employing high-tech specialists focused on research and development and turning ideas into commercialised products.”
Chief Executive John Purdy said: “We pride ourselves on constant innovation and an appetite for change. As a business, we believe that unless you go through a radical redesign every three years, you will falter and fall behind. It’s about being smart for a smart economy.”
Announcing Ergo as the winner of the Microsoft Partner of the Year Award, Paul Rellis commented: “By winning this award, Ergo highlights how Irish companies are innovating and are great examples of the smart economy in action. The award acknowledges Ergo’s ability to deliver products and services, built on Microsoft technology, that positively change and impact their mutual customers’ businesses. It strengthens a deepening relationship between the two companies. Ergo has been a Microsoft Gold Partner for more than ten years and at the end of the month will be Ireland’s only Microsoft Services Ready Partner (the highest achievement for service delivery in a specialist area) for deploying Systems Center software.
