Ergo Recognised as a Deloitte Best Managed Company for 12th Consecutive Year
Ergo was named a Deloitte Best Managed Company for the twelfth year running, at a prestigious awards gala held in the Convention Centre in Dublin last night. Ergo first achieved the global mark of excellence in 2010 and following seven years of successive qualification, has maintained the platinum standard since 2017. The programme run by Deloitte, recognises privately owned companies who are operating at the highest levels of business performance.
Paul McCann, who joined Ergo as CEO in September 2021, was delighted that his first year in charge continued a much-valued tradition. “Deloitte Best Managed Companies status is very important to Ergo because it gives our business a rigorous and independent evaluation. It’s a respected industry benchmark that shows we are doing all the right things when it comes to strategy, innovation and governance, and it keeps our management team focussed on continually driving growth and performance improvement”, he said.
The Best Managed Companies programme recognises the superior business performance of management teams in Irish companies, focussing on four pillars: strategy; capability and innovation; culture and commitment; governance and financial performance. It is the only awards scheme in Ireland that recognises a company’s performance from all these perspectives.
The judging period for Ergo took place during an exceptional period of business expansion. In 2021, the €25 million acquisition of Asystec creating the largest privately owned Irish IT service provider in the Republic, with over 500 employees and an expanded range of capabilities around leading-edge technologies.
In the same period, Ergo raised its level of commitment to employee diversity and inclusion, winning ‘Investors in Diversity – Silver’ from the Irish Centre for Diversity. The company also reinforced its commitment to its sustainability goals in an EcoVadis environmental impact assessment, achieving a silver badge and putting Ergo in the 86th percentile.
