Now more than ever, it is important that we continue to focus on Diversity & Inclusion. Social cohesion is what connects us as a society and as a group of colleagues. It is the glue that holds us together, it leads to strong and supportive communities, and it fosters diverse perspectives, creativity and innovation. Business success and innovation come from individuals who think ‘out of the box’, have different perspectives, and are typically followed by excellent teamwork.
I am proud that at Ergo, we believe that a diverse and inclusive workplace is essential to the way we work and interact with each other, with our clients and business partners. Therefore, we are thrilled to share that our commitment to these values has been recognised with the retention of the Investors in Diversity Silver award.
Our Journey to Silver
The Investors in Diversity Silver award is a testament to the collective efforts of all of employees. We started our journey with the Irish Centre for Diversity in 2021. We quickly moved from the ‘Committing’ to Diversity and Inclusion to the ‘Embedding’ D&I stage. This resulted in our first Silver Mark in 2022. This recognition is based on the feedback from our employees through the Investors in Diversity Silver assessment survey, which evaluates our diversity and inclusion (D&I) practices across four key pillars: leadership, policy and practice, recruitment and retention, and data-driven decision-making. The reassessment earlier this year, resulted in a Silver Mark again with a higher Inclusion score of 80.9%!
Key Highlights
Employee Participation: We are grateful with the high participation rate which reflects the voices of our diverse workforce.
Inclusion Score: We are proud to have achieved an Inclusion Score of 80.9%, surpassing both the national benchmark and the IT & Technology sector average. This marks a 1.9% improvement from our previous assessment.
Pillar-by-Pillar Success: Our results show significant progress in all four pillars, particularly in recruitment, retention, and data-driven decision-making, where we lead both nationally and within our sector.
Looking Ahead
Achieving the IiD Silver award at the “Building Momentum” level is a significant milestone. It demonstrates our ongoing commitment to creating an environment where everyone feels comfortable, encouraged, and supported.
However, we recognise that there is always room for improvement. We have started to analyse our survey results, and we will make sure to enhance our current D&I practices and objectives as necessary. As we celebrate this achievement, we remain dedicated to our journey towards greater diversity and inclusion. A massive thanks to the Irish Center for Diversity for supporting Ergo in our journey achieving our D&I ambitions. Thank you to every member of the Ergo team for your contributions to this success! Together, we are building a workplace where everyone can thrive.
