A year of success with Ergo Networking Services
It is now 25 years since I started working with networks and drew my first cloud diagram. That said some of the biggest changes and greatest innovations I’ve seen in that time has been in the last year since joining Ergo as a Network Specialist. In the last twelve months we have rolled out several global SD-WANs (Software-Defined Wide Area Networks) with sites and users as far as San Paulo, Mumbai, Cape Town and Azure & AWS Clouds. We have won contracts to roll out some of the largest offices in Ireland with high density Wi-Fi with enterprise LANs (Local Area Networks) including managed Network Access Control. On the Network Security side, we are deploying SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) features from Cloud Firewalls, Intrusion Detection and Zero Trust Remote User solution in the public and private sectors.
It has been a whirlwind of a year, but the most reassuring part of my role is knowing we have both the Network Security Engineers to deliver and execute on the solutions we provide and a Managed Service Team that can provide expert monitoring, real time configuration changes and fault handling for our increasing base of Network customers.
Historically, Ergo has focused a large investment of people, time and monetary resources in our Networking & Security engineering capabilities, with great success. In this article, I would like to highlight what differentiates Ergo’s network as a service offering.

We are a multi-vendor partner including certification and large, complex deployments of Aruba (HPE), CATO, Cisco, Checkpoint and Fortinet covering Wi-Fi, LAN, SD-WAN, SASE and Firewall enterprise solutions.
Our Engineers must constantly keep up with vendor certification. Some of our expertise including two Cisco CCIE’s and our CATO expertise making Ergo the most qualified CATO Partner in Ireland.

SASE Capabilities from the Industry Trailblazers
Ergo has unique capabilities with CATO Networks, who pioneered the convergence of networking and security into the cloud. It enables Ergo to help our customers deploy SD-WAN quickly with the ability to control all elements from the CATO Portal in our Managed Service Centre. We can add additional SASE features from Cloud Firewalls and Secure Web Gateway which is included as part of the SD-WAN to more complex security features such as IPT intrusion prevention system.
This service is more a platform than a product and you could think of it as ‘A Managed Smart Pipe’. It can be set up as a pilot in weeks and there are no hardware lead-time issues and simply needs an Internet connection from Ergo or customer provided. It blends Networking & Security in a single Cloud Platform and can provide dual access circuits in Active/Active mode.
Our managed service wrap along with the SD-WAN / SASE Portal provides monitoring, fault resolution & performance reporting 24 X 7 X 365 with the ability to make real time changes to existing configuration component.
