At Ergo, we believe in empowering our people and providing them with opportunities to grow, prioritising career fulfilment and longevity, across all teams, disciplines, and borders. Our Life at Ergo series celebrates those journeys and the incredible individuals behind them.
Today’s feature highlights Kelly Steer — a standout female leader in STEM and a strong advocate for women in the industry. Through her mentorship and her example, she continues to inspire women within Ergo and across the wider STEM community.
We asked Kelly two questions about her experience:
What has your experience been like as a woman leading in the tech space at Ergo?
My promotion to Senior Project Manager is a significant achievement in my career. Over the past 10 years, I have gained extensive experience as a project manager and, during the last year, worked closely with my leader, Frank Devins, to further develop my leadership skills and obtain the certifications required for this role. In addition, I’ve dedicated myself to continuous learning by participating in project management and leadership conferences, staying up to date with new practices, and adapting, not only to deliver project goals but also to create lasting value for our clients.
How do you foster inclusion and support for other women at Ergo?
Since joining Ergo, I have benefited from the strong support of my leaders, who have encouraged my growth and provided opportunities for training and certification. Their guidance has inspired me to continually ask, what’s next on my journey, and how can I add even more value to my role? To that end, I have focused on earning technical certifications to deepen my expertise and deliver greater impact to our projects.
What changes have you seen in the industry—and at Ergo—regarding women in tech?
There has definitely been a shift towards greater visibility and recognition of women’s contributions in tech. At Ergo, I am happy to see more women stepping into technical and senior level roles.
Kelly’s story shows how strong leadership and genuine advocacy can make a real difference for women in STEM. Stay tuned for more Life at Ergo features as we continue to celebrate the people who shape our community.
