Ergo wins two more Microsoft Partner Awards that shine light on unique workplace skills and charity work

Hot on the heels of winning Microsoft Country Partner of the Year at the 2020 global Microsoft awards, the local Ireland office has named Ergo Modern Workplace Teamwork Partner and Social Impact Partner of the Year. The two additional awards highlight specialist areas where Ergo has excelled, one around new ways of working powered by digitalization, the other in enabling a non-profit organization to achieve greater societal impact.

The Modern Workplace Teamwork award recognizes and celebrates partners who demonstrate an exceptional ability to deliver best-in-class Microsoft teamwork solutions across the Microsoft 365 portfolio, including Microsoft Teams. Ergo has pioneered a three-stage engagement process that starts with a discovery phase, moves through a process of aligning applications to user needs and technical requirements, while simultaneously bringing people along on the journey with an extensive change management programme that involves extensive training and educational messaging.

Setting up features like content sharing, enterprise security and compliance are integral to Workplace projects, but the change management piece is equally important, according to Steve Blanche, Chief Technology Officer at Ergo. “The amount of time and resources we put into communicating and coaching client employees is what makes our Modern Workplace projects so successful,” he explained. “Unless people engage with the new technologies, we will consider the project a failure. It’s an approach that has become a real differentiator for Ergo.”

The Partner for Social Impact Award recognizes a Microsoft partner who has helped accelerate the digital transformation of a non-profit organization. Ergo used the Microsoft Azure Cloud to provide a continuous revenue stream for Make-A-Wish Ireland, the charity that helps make wishes come true for children with life-threatening medical conditions. By pledging 2% of all monthly subscriptions generated by Azure services, Ergo is tapping into modern cloud consumption models to raise money for a deserving cause.

Donations are expected to reach at least €100,000 in the first year alone, but this is just the start. Ergo wants customers and other Microsoft partners to do the same and become Wish Cloud participants. Jimmy Sheahan, Chief Commercial Officer at Ergo, commented: “We hope that winning this award will encourage customers and other Microsoft partners to allocate part of their cloud fees to the charity. With this money-raising model, we all have the chance to make a lasting impact on an exceptional charity that makes a huge difference to so many children.”
