Ergo Boosts Bespoke Software Capability with Acquisition of BoatyardX

Ergo, Ireland’s largest privately-owned Irish IT services company, has today announced the acquisition of BoatyardX, an Irish based custom software development company. BoatyardX uses leading-edge cloud-native technology to design, build and launch secure and scalable software solutions for customers in North and South America, Europe, Northern Africa and South-East Asia. A sector agnostic provider, BoatyardX has developed significant expertise building cloud based custom software for clients in FinTech, Payments, e-Commerce and IoT sectors.
This latest development aligns with Ergo’s plans to further deepen the company’s software development competencies, enabling it to meet a growing demand for bespoke business critical applications and to build new products that address emerging market opportunities. It also builds on the company’s acquisition of Asystec earlier this year, forming part of the company’s ambitious domestic and global growth strategy.
Headquartered in Dublin and with development teams in Romania and Colombia, the acquisition of BoatyardX will see Ergo’s global team of IT professionals grow to 700 through the addition of a 120-strong multidisciplinary team. This will provide a powerful injection of skills and scale to Ergo’s existing practice, and broaden customer propositions around cloud journeys as well as custom software design and build capabilities.
