At Ergo, inclusion isn’t just a word on a page – it’s something we live every day. For us, it means creating opportunities for everyone to thrive, especially in the tech sector where diverse perspectives spark innovation. That’s why, since 2022, we’ve proudly partnered with DCU’s Access to the Workplace Programme, welcoming six talented students into our teams so far.

What is DCU’s Access to the Workplace programme all about?
The DCU Access to the Workplace Programme is a summer internship initiative designed to support the employability and social mobility of undergraduate students in third-level education. It focuses on:
- Second-year Access students, who come from backgrounds underrepresented in higher education.
- Neurodivergent students registered with DCU’s Disability Service.
These internships are professional, fully paid placements lasting 4–12 weeks, running from May to September. Companies who take part also donate to the DCU Access Programme, helping fund vital supports for students while giving them real-world experience.

Why we’re involved
For us, hosting these internships is about more than opening our doors—it’s about investing in futures. Every student who joins Ergo brings fresh ideas, energy, and a unique perspective that enriches our culture. And in return, we get to play a small but meaningful role in their journey toward a successful career.
As our People & Culture Manager, Aoife Reynolds puts it:
“At Ergo, inclusion means creating opportunities for everyone to thrive — especially in the tech sector, where diverse perspectives drive innovation. Supporting DCU’s Access to the Workplace programme reflects our commitment to opening doors for early career talent from all backgrounds, and we look forward to welcoming more students into our growing tech community.”

Looking ahead
We’re proud of the impact this partnership has had so far—and excited for what’s next. Each placement is a chance to learn, grow, and make tech more inclusive, one student at a time.
