For dealing with known threats, intrusion detection systems (IDS) and intrusion prevention systems (IPS) sit on every host within your estate. They match pre-built and preordained attack patterns before generating a predefined action, such as an alert or traffic block.
For dealing with unknown threats, a cloud-based Software-a-a-Service solution monitors all network traffic, aggregating and correlating events involving anomalous or unusual behavior. Suspicious files are executed in a sandbox environment where they will pose no threat to your IT systems.
